The Simplicity of Worship Music

"Worship made simple"

As everyone knows, I'm a big fan of simplicity in music. There maybe those times where you don't need to put a lot of effort into putting details and magnificant solos into a song to "humph" it up. Sometimes, songs are made to be easy, smooth and simple to be. A little simple riff and can make a song very "humphy" too.

I believe God has given us the ease in worship songs. Worship songs were made to be simple so that ALL can praise and glorify God. If worship songs become so hard to achieve, then we might be forgetting something: That God is the source of our worship, not the song.

I'm definetly not a perfect person or worship musician, but I believe God is working towards making us into true worshippers who will be able to offer their bodies as living sacrifices, which is holy and pleasing to God--This is our spiritual act of worship! (Romans 12:1)

All around the world the nations cry in beautiful worship to God. Hymns, Hillsong songs, Chris Tomlin songs and old praise & worship songs are all well known througout the world! Beginner musicians are encouraged by such easy temp,o- music that they'll be motivated by the Spirit to play even with 'skills' to glorify God beyond what we can imagine. This is what makes God-Songs so much more beautiful and elegant. EVERYONE knows them. They're simple to remember, the melodies are easy to catch, and  they're good to tweak. (Praise & worship takes it's most Holy place in every Temple of God. =) ) I just think that's so amazing about worship music.

As a former lead guitarist for my church band, I believe simple is here to stay. There will be times that a little solo here and there will be needed to add a powerful expression of love towards God in our talents, but simple will never go away.

The God of excellence has created such a simple way for us to have worship easily. We need to take that oppurtunity and utilize it well.

Thank You Jesus for the simplicity you have in worship music, so that we can praise and minister to others. I am so honored to be working with you and for you. O God thank you for bringing all the musicians here today to work with me! I am so happy Lord. In your Holy Name I give you the Praise, Amen.
